COVID-19 — Additional Issues and Items

In order to ensure the safest visit for everyone we have taken advice and will be following the guidance outlined below in addition to our Cottage Rental Terms and Conditions.

  1. First, if you have a confirmed case or if you are exhibiting the most common signs and symptoms of coronavirus infection, (which are fever, dry cough, and shortness of breath), please let us know as soon as possible and we will try to re-accommodate your booking.

  2. Please DO NOT arrive at Westermill for your holiday with these symptoms, as we will NOT be able to honour your booking.

  3. The cottages at Westermill are not appropriate for self-isolation and are NOT insured or council approved for longer term accommodation.

  4. For your own safety and ours: if, during your stay, you begin to present symptoms of illness in line with Covid-19, you will be directed to the nearest emergency services and asked to immediately vacate the premises.

  5. We strongly advise anyone booking to ensure you take out travel insurance to protect against any unexpected interruption to your stay.

  6. Records of guest details, name, contact telephone and email will be maintained for a minimum of 90 days. If specifically required, these will be handed over to authorities to assist in track and tracing of who has been in contact with infected individuals who have visited our property.

  7. Interaction between guest and owners will be limited. Guests will be welcomed and shown to their cottage, but guests will let themselves in.

  8. Should any assistance be required during your stay, a phone call or text should suffice.

  9. Social distancing should always been abided by.

  1. Between visits all surfaces will be cleaned with disinfectant products that are specifically for use against emerging viral pathogens.

  2. As linens may become contaminated with the virus, we have taken the decision to remove all excess linen, quilts, towels, pillows and any other soft furnishings/accessories.

Cottage Cleaning

During your stay we ask you to maintain cleaning regularly.

The cottage must be cleaned thoroughly before you leave.

Please bring your own personal sanitising equipment.

  1. All pillows, cases, duvets and duvet covers have been removed and will not be provided during this time.

  2. Mattresses will be sprayed with disinfectant between guests.

  3. Our Beds will be provided with clean fitted sheets which have been washed with added disinfectant.

  4. Guests are required to bring their own pillows/cases and duvets/covers for their stay.

Bedding and linen

To help reduce the risk to the most vulnerable members of our family we have decided to handle and wash as little bedding as possible. Therefore we ask you to bring your own:

  1. Sheets
  2. Duvet covers
  3. Pillow slips
  4. Towels, hand clothes, etc.

All the cottage beds are single — except for Molinia which has one double bed.

You are of course very welcome to bring your own bedding (duvet and pillows) if you prefer, which would be extremely helpful to us.

An oven glove and bath mat will be provided.

  1. Bathroom will no longer have a stock of toiletries. Shampoo, conditioner and soap will not be provided during this time.

  2. All bath towels and soft bathmats have been removed and will not be provided during this time.

  3. Our Bathroom will have a wooden bathmat, a hand towel and a bottle of hand washing soap at the sink.

  4. Guests are required to bring their own toiletries and towels, etc during this time.

  1. Between guests, the cleaning of all kitchen utensils, dishes and glasses will be done by an automatic, hot cycle dishwasher in the main residence.

  2. Tea towels and an oven glove will be provided.

  3. A provision of coffee, tea and sugar will still be provided.

Farm and Local Restrictions

We expect all visitors to comply fully with the current Government guidelines on COVID-19, regarding illnesses and quarantine periods.

Children must always have appropriate supervision while on the farm.

Our farm dogs are friendly and love meeting people but we ask that you do not touch or stroke them — either in their kennels or around and about.

  1. No Way Marked walks or rambling on the farm

  2. No entry to any farm buildings or sheds

  3. No Farm shop

  4. The village shop in Exford is still under renovation

  1. The White Horse Pub and Restaurant in Exford

We are implementing a change to arrival and departure times to allow a period for the cottage to air and extra time to disinfect all surfaces and equipment.

  1. Arrival times from 5 PM onwards

  2. Departure time by 9 AM

In Appreciation

Thank you for your attention.

We hope you understand these changes are required so that we can open up and you are able to come to Westermill and enjoy your stay in the safest environment that we can manage together.
